Shamans believe there are three worlds and each world is accessible to the Shaman for retrieving information and medicine.
Depending on the medicine needed by the client, the shaman will energetically travel to another world to retrieve the "healing" for the client. Every client is different and so is every session. The healing is customized based on the intake and the MPI (most pressing issue). Many clients think they need a certain "thing" to heal but most of the time, the root cause of the issue is completely different than what they're stuck on. Keep an open mind and allow the healing to happen in the best way for you.
Example from one of my sessions: Jack (name has been changed to maintain confidentiality of the actual client) came to me with a severe back pain that he struggled with for over 20 years. He didn't believe that anything could heal the pain because he'd lived with it for so so long that he'd gotten used to it. Throughout the session, Jack made angry remarks about these healing techniques. I understood that his anger wasn't directed towards me and I didn't take it personally. I asked him to tell me about the event that started this pain. He told me about a childhood accident that affected him physically and emotionally. I traveled to one of the three shamanic worlds and brought back the power animal he lost in his childhood accident. A week after the session, his wife called me and said that Jack was embarrassed to call himself because he was rude during the session, but he had asked her to call and tell me that his 20 year old back pain was completely gone and he was able to ride his horses again.
